Muralidhar Rao was born in a farmer’s family at Korapalli village near Jammikunta, in Karimnagar District. He had his education up to undergraduate level in Warangal. He is a postgraduate from Osmania University with an MA in Philosophy in 1985 and an M.Phil in 1986.
Muralidhar Rao joined the RSS at a very young age and later led Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Warangal and Hyderabad. He played an active role in weaning away a large number of youth from the violent politics of leftwing extremism during 1980s in north Telangana.
He was deputed to North India in 1987 and was assigned a role in Rajasthan. Later in 1991 he was deputed to Jammu & Kashmir. He rallied the youth and students against fundamentalist forces. He made several visits to Srinagar incognito despite threats to his life from jihadists.
For several years he has been working to get justice to the victims of Gulf-Migration, turmeric farmers, beedi-labour, weavers and victims of Singareni opencast mining of North Telangana.
Muralidhar Rao joined BJP in January 2009 as attaché to President Rajnath Singh. In 2010 he was made national secretary by Shri Nitin Gadkari and was put in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. During the past three years he concentrated on bringing the deprived sections closer to BJP.

Telangana Government should work towards progress of state: Muralidhar Rao

BJP General secretary Muralidhar Rao said that Telangana government should work for the progress of the state.

He said it is not good to blame centre on governors rule in the state and said centre is just implementing the amendments placed in the bifurcation bill. He said BJP is the party which supported for the formation of Telangana State. The leader said it is not good for both the states to have confrontational atmosphere. [01-09-2014]

BJP leader Naagam Janardhan Reddy said that the central government is moving as per the laws enacted in AP Reorganization act.

BJP National Executive Member Nagam Janardhan Reddy criticized the work of the KCR government saying TRS government is focusing on unwanted problems, neglecting problems faced by the farmers in the state.
He said that present situation of the farmers in the state is worsening due to lack of power supply to the fields. [08-08-2014]

Janardhan reddy demands uninterrupted power supply to farmers

BJP senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy demanded the state-led TRS government to provide uninterrupted power supply to the farmers in the state.
He criticized the rule of TRS government saying KCR regime resembles the regime of Tughlaq and said that present reign of state government will spoil the development of Telangana state.
Janardhan Reddy said that the present Chief Minister KCR is showing interest in allotting funds to police suits and implementation of new vehicles to the department and is ignoring the problems caused to farmers due to lack of electricity. [07-08-2014]
