shri amit shah

Amit Shah is the President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), succeeding Rajnath Singh. He is a distinguished political leader in the party.
Shah is known for his organisational abilities and strategic planning within the party across the country. As an electoral incharge of BJP party from Uttar Pradesh, he turned fortunes of the party in the state with a spectacular result.
In the current elections, under the leadership of Shah, BJP and its ally won 73 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP. The party's vote share in the state has increased almost two and half times in less than two years.
Amit Shah was born on October 22, 1964 in a philanthropist family. At a tender age of 14, Shri Amit Shah joined the Rashtriya Syawamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a 'Tarun Syawamsevak'.
In 1982, as a student of bio-chemistry, he was handed over the responsibility of the secretary of the students' organisation ABVP in Ahmedabad. He later became the secretary of BJP Ahmedabad city unit.
For the first time, Shah was elected as an MLA in 1995, from Sarkhej assembly constituency. He was re-elected from the same constituency in 1998. He later shifted his constituency to Naranpura Assembly seat in 2012.
In 2000, the Ahmedabad District Co-Operative Bank Limited was in totters and declared a weak bank due to lack of leadership. It was then that Amit Shah was brought in as the chairman of the bank, within a year the Bank cleared its debts and fell in line of other profit-making banks, with declaration of 10% dividend.
In 1995, under the leadership of Keshubhai Patel, Shah became the youngest chairman of Gujarat State Financial Corporation (G.S.F.C.). From 2002, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Shah held several portfolios in Gujarat, which includes transport, police, housing, border security, civil defense, gram rakshak dal, home guards, prison, prohibition, excise, law and justice, parliamentary affairs and the coveted home ministry.
Amit Shah executed his brief to perfection, eventually beating competition within the BJP to emerge as party president ahead of state elections in Haryana and Maharashtra this year and Jharkhand and J&K next year. Shah's appointment reflects BJP's urge to consolidate its electoral gains further and expand its national footprint.
Passionate, poetic and progressive, Shri Narendra Modi is one of independent India’s most popular leaders. A ‘transformational leader’ known for delivering results, he is an embodiment of courage, conviction and compassion.
Born on September 17, 1950 into a humble family in Vadnagar, Gujarat; Shri Modi has lived his life by the principle of Antyodaya or ‘serving the farthest’. His personal journey up to leading the world’s oldest civilization and youngest nation today; reinforces the very ‘Idea of India’ – wherein every Indian can realize his or her aspirations.
A powerful dreamer, Shri Modi compliments vision with the remarkable ability of implementing the same. His approach balances the importance of big and small; leveraging on global as well as local strengths.
